[before everyone: cookie, (haha i feel like eating one now) so good to hear from ya! i always knew you were brilliant and it's great that you're finally enjoying the non-social part of school as well. =) i was talking to someone who knew you the other day, but i don't remember who. okay, shall stop random spamming now.]

stuff has been good. of course the jc busyness threatens to engulf, but God's really been helping me keep things in perspective. they're just tutorials, after all. (and isn't it sad that that statement sounds so hollow? anyways.) i'm quite enjoying the fact that there are a lot of people in rj. it's interesting to talk to lots of different people. great, i'm rambling and have no clue what to say now.

today at some induction thing in school this guy in my group asked me what secondary school i was from and when i told him he was like, "oh, i guessed correctly. you have an mgs aura." which i thought was strange, since in rj the usual assumption is that everyone comes from rgs. but which is a good thing, since mg is a good school. (yay!) unless he associates mgs with bimbodom. (oh no, my rahrah in the last bracket sounds very cheerleadery.)

i'd love a class gathering. i'll be around until the 7th, i think. shall write again when i'm in a slightly more stable mood. dunno why i'm sounding like this now. =) take care and God bless all of you. =)

hey guys! calling from coimbatore, india :) i'm right in the middle of summer school out here! i started school early april...i've gotten adjusted to things around here, more or less...i think about you guys a lot....man, nothing compares to a4 and everything we did together! :) it's funny, how we cherish things so much more when we don't have them anymore, isn't it? everything here's soooo different from out there! boarding school in itself means a lot of changes. in addition, it's a whole new country with new people and a really alien environment. i can't say it's bad, it's just...well, different! can u guys believe i have to get up at 5.30 every day for JOGGING?? haha...the campus is amazing, though...my school is set right in the middle of the mountains...it's very picturesque...getting to the academic part of school, i'm doing the IB system...International Baccaleureate...the UWC system...it's a swiss thingum...it's pretty cool....very project-based and stuff...the good part is that is has no mugging involved, just a lot of thinking and applying and stuff...i'm doing the management course...but IB works like this: whichever faculty u're in, u have to do a subject from every different faculty...so i have to do bio...yucky yucks...but all my other subjects are cool. we have this epistomology subject called Theory of Knowledge, which is a lot of fun...it's a branch of philosophy...and we have CAS, which is something like CIP over there, but it's kinda different...and we need to make up 300 CAS hours! hell. i've picked up some weird language since i got here. i'll tell u guys some of it : 1) balls 2) balls to you 3) SEXY! 4) dumbfuck. okkkk...right...not very important...:P lolx....okie-doks...i'd better be off now, mailing time is right about over...games is next....gosh, it's such a tight schedule, it gives me a real bad headache! cheerios!~ out.

Feel like I've been running around like a headless chicken with not enough sleep lately. Talk about 5-day work weeks; my Saturdays have been all eaten up since mid-April. Went for the Hwa Chong sports meet today. It's even worse than MG's! People started leaving halfway--just walking out of the place and not caring who saw them, and no one stopped them (the teachers were all busy marking their worksheets) so some facs (that's what they call the houses in HC) had, like, half their stand empty. A total of 2 classmates (excluding the 2 councillors in my class) turned up and both of them left after singing the National Anthem and taking the pledge.

We have green Chinese High NCCs flicking rifles to 'I Need A Lover Tonight' instead of cheerleaders. It amused me greatly; prepubescent boys in turquoise toy-soldier getups spinning rifles to a badly remixed disco song. I'm in yellow house now, and I want the yellow umbrellas they gave out. I guess you stop using glitter once there are guys around, and as a result those tinselly-sparkly-shiny thingies they give out during track meet in MG are non-existent in HC. In their place are highly practical yellow/red/blue/green fans (according to your fac) and strips of cloth (also in your fac colour) you can tie around your head to make you look like a mad Amazon woman when you cheer.

Speaking of cheers, our new cheer i/c is probably going to wake up with no voice tomorrow. Amazing. She yells "HWA CHONG KEBABA!" (Speaking of which, what is a kebaba?) through the loudspeaker and though Honyi says she practiced using her diaphragm I doubt it. Nothing that sounds like a sheet of paper being torn into two could have come out of a diaphragm.

The stands are a lot more comfortable than ACJC/ACS i/wherever we have our track meet. And for once in goodness-knows-how-long, I don't have to patrol.

heyo. and i thought the blog was quite inactive.

classes. just had a whole lot of new classmates in ac...but the class is extremely quiet. gone are the days of a4 when andrea or jac strums the guitar and sings along...be it to jars of clay, switchfoot or even spongebob.

just to let you guys know. Ms Bong has given birth, at about 11.25pm on 5 april 2005 and it's a baby boy, Isaac Peter Ng. that's what elaine heng told me from Ms Bong herself.

was wondering about the possibility of our classes getting together again...and to visit her. we can always get her address from Mr Tay since i heard Ms Bong has moved from signature park. we must get together. jill made a good point though, that it wouldn't be too nice and it'll be too tiring for her to see us all at once...but still i believe we can organise something...just as long as a4ians keep checking the blog or their handphone.

well, in ac, the common tests are starting again and homework is piling up and the pace of lectures is faster though my form teacher is highly embarassing when he gives econs lectures. miss the noisy-ness of a4 and hope everyone's coping well.

I'm guessing that people are more or less rather unsettled; people shifting out, getting shifted out, changing classes, moving around, different JCs even....

But, well, guys, we got this far, didn't we?

We survived the split of 4A4- we can survive anything, then. :D Ahem.

And the first three months definetely (I hope) improved for everyone. Remember that there's hope looming in the day they call "tommorrow", which never comes, which I can't spell, but becomes more and more of a reality each day.

Hey guys...

So it's all over. You could say our life in MG has effectively come to an end with the release of the o'level results. Hm. How's everyone?

I feel like we're about to have to part for good soon. The first two months were like balancing on a thread...we were never quite sure if we were going to stay or go, but with the results our and after everything's settled down, we'll know for sure and our paths will be set: diverging for now, but maybe soon converging again.

I guess I just want to grasp hold of this moment to tell you guys how precious you are in God's eyes. Regardless of the results and how you feel about them, He loves you and has placed you here for a purpose. Chase after that purpose by chasing after Him, the only one worth living your life for. May God strengthen you in the process.

haha...valentine's day...my class guys got the girls a rose each...and the student council sold roses and balloons, just like the way mg did it, plus radio dedications and ac idol finalists performance during recess.

i'm just wasting my weekend away, always did...better change that...considering that i just finished all my common tests, i'm in no mood to study at all...and i didn't do that well for all of them. talk about reality. so results are coming on monday. not planning to go to school on that day. jac, i have the same problem as you and i can't wait to see all you guys back in mg soon.

sigh, i have to go...but we must all catch up sometime soon, plus the fact that ms bong baby's due soon. take care everyone.

For Valentine's Day the girls got roses from the guys and the guys got toy cars. Hahaha.

So. The dreaded day is drawing nearer and nearer. Woohoo...

Rumours you guys probably already heard: this Friday or next Monday. Everyone's betting on next Monday. I hope it comes out on Friday because then I can skip my school's cross-country. But chances are slim.

Feeling grumpy due to a late shower and a late dinner. Had three tests this week: History, GP and Lit, and I think I could have screwed them all up but I don't really care at the moment. Am grumpy, but I already mentioned that.

How's everyone doing so far? Am iffy about the friends bit; sometimes I just can't be bothered and I retreat into my little corner to do work or read, which seems really antisocial when everyone else is talking but...I don't know. At the present moment I'm taking the backseat and just watching until something comes along and pushes me into the fray.

Hope you guys are having fun in AC, JJ, YJ, CJ, RJ, NJ, VJ and all the other Js. Miss you lots :)

heyo. didn't see that many a4sians today. only jill, andrea,clemmie,weiching, muriel,ky, andris,jac,joanna,anna, pam po and me...what happened to the rest of you? ms bong told us to inform her and mr tay should we have another gathering. i really and still do miss a4...i'm so quiet that andrea said i was making up for lost time by talking so much today. the new classrooms in mg are big...and jill and i toured the empty rj compound today, which was like "woah!"... i can't stand the ac teachers and their english...even mr loh speaks better than them. oh and ms ng didn't retire...she's teaching part time in the lower secondary classes and now ms bong and ms kunalan are teaching full lit. sigh, we always miss things dont' we, by that small teeny weeny bit. i dont' find ac that much of a mugging school anymore...although jill says that it still happens...but our common tests are next week. happy chinese new year everyone! hope school's going on fine for all of you...

Hey everyone! Aysuria here. School is evil and tiring and ugh. One month, and I'm already sick, as in with a fever. But I guess otherwise it's fun, only it seems that all RI guys are pro-muggers and I have 18(!) of them in my class. Not funny at all, 18 guys and 9 girls. Plus my form/physics teacher speaks, walks and talks like an Ah Beng; I can barely understand a word he says. I'm actually beginning to miss Mr Loh, but apparently he's right across in the Rafflesia staring at the RI guys in the pool.
I really miss A4! 1S03N sounds weird, and now I have to actually bother about the way I sit.. Oh, well. Anyhow, I'm probably going back to MG on tuesday, but my class wants to do that strange Yu Sheng thing, so might be a little late.
Oh, and did anyone know that Ms Ng retired?

Andrea crashed AC, and she is the luckiest idiot on the face of the planet. Like, my Math lecturer is the only lecturer who actually counts every single bloody person in the LT personally according to the class list he is provided with, and we were so sure we were screwed, but just as he came up to count my class, my classmate got up and crossed the aisle to say something to his friend, not knowing our class was being counted, and just as the lecturer moved away, came back to sit down.

Hah. Not kidding. It's nuts lah. Thankfully, he didn't check to see if the number of girls corresponded with the number on his list. :P

ANYWAY yes, Saturday everyone! (Btw, has anyone heard from Tina lately? Like... I don't know if she knows, because I don't think she frequents this. :P)

Boredly boredness. Do not want proper tutorials to start. Drama is really.... urgh. I miss MG Drama, where like, half of a4 was. :(

Update on stuff: Barnum's actually Barnard, hahaha, and he's our econs teacher. He's pretty funny but a little intimidating. Our lit text is Wuthering Heights, and our lit teacher made it seem pretty interesting but I think I have a mental block with regards to reading it...it's the language; it scares me away.

Math isn't the same without Shirin and Miss Kek.

School isn't the same without you guys. Recess isn't the same; you can't just sit there and, like, stone, and not care. I actually have to try to make conversation and pay attention to what people are talking about(I'm not having much success with that, though). I never knew how much I stone until I came to Hwa Chong.

It's soooo darned windy in there.

I know this is going to sound super melodramatic, but I never fully appreciated what a great bunch you were until there wasn't you anymore.

NJC is like, funny. I really don't know what to say. It's nothing about what everyone warned me about; the seniors are really crazy and my class is an odd combi class and everyone there is a bit mad. But it's sort of like culture shock, because there's practically nothing in common. But then again, all you guys must have experienced that in whatever jc you guys are in, right?

I just hope I can bond with my class, argh. I dunno what it is about some of them that I can't talk to very much or get into their circle.

orientation wasn't that bad. i actually enjoyed the mass dance even though it made me ache so much. i thought the campfire was a bit of a let down in terms of it being a climax to the whole orientation experience. my parents were angry that they ended more than an hour late. well, i'm not too familiar with the mg girls [jasmine, mel wong and gen] in my orientation group. well, there are 5 mg girls in my class [ky, lydia hang, elaine and lynette +me] which is probably the biggest group in my class. i miss a4, the whole environment that just makes me feel so comfortable. i still feel a little out of place in AC and somewhat left out, that i've become quieter. i don't know what's happening and i do hope things can turn out better. my cough just seems to have taken a turn for the worse just when i thought it was about to heal. i dont' know how i'll balance cca commitments since we end at 4.30 everyday except wednesday when it ends at 1.50. i don't know how much sleep i'll get since if i dont' get enough, i'll end up falling asleep during lectures nor do i know how i'll complete my homework but i'm sure we'll get to that part anyway. i've mastered the AC school song, and it's actually not that bad. all i can hope now is that my voice will heal in time for the choir auditions...till then, i'll remain a closet/bathroom singer.

How's orientation, you guys? Hope everyone's having a good time.

There are only 7 MG girls in Hwa Chong: Eddy, Jingyi, Mumtazah, Yuen Ling, Wei Ying, Adora and me, and I think we're the smallest contingent. There are more AC guys than us! A little less than 50% of the J1 cohort in Hwa Chong consists of Chinese High guys and the girl population are pretty evenly split between RG (they're here for the Humanities Programme), SC, River Valley, St. Nick's and Nanyang.

I'm the only MG girl in the Humanities Programme (provisionally, at least, for the next 3 months until results come out), which means I'll be the only MG girl in my class, which sort of sucks because I have to make new friends again but oh well. The teacher in charge of the programme, Mr. Barnum, is a funny Briton who looks, according to my RG friend, "like a dragon". He's got these funny eyebrows that sort of stick up instead of down and clumps around with fists clenched as he talks. The J2s seem to like him and he does seem likeable but stay tuned.

We have a principal who is rather nice but I miss Miss Kon's perfect English. Hwa Chong's so strange and different and I wouldn't say I'm enjoying it right now but I suppose I can get used to it.

I'm missing quite a bit of orientation because as luck would have it, I fell sick! It's the sore throat thing again, and I just know it'll develop into a full-blown cold/flu (I can't tell the difference) soon which is annoying because I'm too weak to do anything besides sleep at the moment. :P

We end school at 5:15 every day this week except Friday, when we have campfire and end at 10. I really hope I'm not going to end at 5 for the rest of my JC life or I'll never see you guys ever again. Luckily, according to Jingyi, Arts people end their lessons earlier, so there is hope.

Yesterday there was this mass dance thing that was really funny in a cute and dorky way. It's so uncool, and I guess that's why it's fun. The school anthem is in Chinese, I think. I'm not sure because the J1s haven't had assembly yet. We've just been coming to school and doing stuff in the auditorium (which has way less comfortable seats than MG's).

They've already started preparing us for post-JC life, though. Yesterday we had people from NUS and NTU coming in to talk to us about university admissions. Haha! So I got these cool-looking prospectuses that I'll probably never look at for the rest of the year. I don't even know what I'll become when I grow up.

I wonder if I'll change much if I stay for 2 years in Hwa Chong.

heyhey! call from india :D how're all you guys?? wowwww, do i miss singapore! haha, i'm in chennai right now (it's in the southern part of india) and i'll be here for the next 6 months! i'm going to school in coimbatore (that's a good 7 hours away from where i am right now). term starts in june, so i have a 6-months break. and no, i'm not jumping for joy, cuz i'm DEAD BORED. i'm going to an international residential school. will be there for the next 2 years. it's just basically equivalent to jc. :) i'll just be finishing 6 mths later than u guys cuz i'm starting 6 mths later! i miss everyone so much! -sigh- this is the 1st time i actually managed to get myself online for a good half an hour cuz computers here are so frustratingly SLOW. gosh. hey, all u guys have a great new year, ya? i'll keep reading the blog! everybody take care :) luv u guys always! *muackz*

i got back from an eight day camp on tuesday morning and now christmas in my church is threatening to go into full swing. like carolling and choir and christmas eve dinner and everything. should be fun, but busy. *sigh* have to be back in singapore by the 28th and i need to visit grandparents on both sides (in penang and kl), as well as a dentist, an optometrist and hopefully an eye specialist about my weird dry eyes before we leave ipoh.

Work-A-Holic Strikes Again

People ask me if I ever take a rest. Hahaha...No. Not really. I guess I'm the sort of person who feels restless without anything to do, which is why I found a job. That and the fact that my parents don't give me money during holidays :P

So tomorrow I'm going to go to the CCMC office and start work there, answering phone calls and doing paperwork...basically neatening up the place. I'm the odd-jobs-woman who gets paid a handsome sum of $40 a day :)

I've wondered many times if I'm not actually dreaming all this up because it's quite amazing how I even got the job. I was supposed to go for another interview today after popping by the CCMC office to talk to the people there about the job but something in me told me not to and just to spend the day resting with God cos I've been rushing sooo much these past few days. So I did, and around 3 I got this call from CCMC saying I got the job. Say what you want, but I attribut it to the grace of God. Wow!

Check back with me next week to see if I've still got it, okay?
